View digital receipt

Once your delivery is complete, we’ll send you an email copy of your full receipt. If you’re not receiving Instacart emails, please check your junk/spam folder!

You can also view your delivery receipt in your Instacart account.

In your mobile app—

  1. Tap the Orders icon in the bottom right corner of your screen.
  2. Tap the order you want to review.
  3. Tap Receipt.

On a computer—

  1. Click the 3 horizontal lines in the upper-left corner of your screen.
  2. In the dropdown menu, click Your orders.
  3. Click View order detail for the order you want to review.
  4. At the top of the order details page, click View Receipt.

Please note: if your order contains deliveries from multiple stores, you’ll see each store’s items list displayed as a tab on the order details page. However, selecting View receipt on any store tab will display a receipt for the complete order, including all stores.

Viewing refunds on your digital receipt

Refunds can show in 2 places on your digital receipt— under Adjustments at the top of your receipt, and under Charges at the bottom of your receipt.

The Adjustments section shows refunds for out-of-stock items or item issues, such as missing or damaged items. Out-of-stock items that the shopper refunded before checkout show under Not Charged. You won’t see a refund in your bank or credit card statement for these items because you were never charged for them.

The Charges section shows any refunds applied to your original payment method after your order completed.

  • Original Charge shows what Instacart charged you when your order completed.
  • Refund for order issue shows any refunds that Instacart processed after your order completed.
  • Total Charged shows your final order total, including any refunds applied after your order completed.

Refund on digital receipt not showing in bank account

Instacart processes refunds immediately, but they sometimes take 5-10 business days to show in your bank or credit card account.

If you can’t find a refund in your bank account, you may have received a same-day refund. Same-day refunds don’t appear as separate line items in your bank or credit card statement. Instead, you’ll see an adjustment to the original charge. If you receive a same-day refund for the entire order total, the original charge disappears from your statement.

Multiple charges on my receipt

When you place an order through Instacart, we show you the anticipated total for your order, including estimated taxes and fees. If applicable, you may see other charges at the bottom of your final receipt.

An Additional Charge on your delivery receipt reflects any items added to your order after it’s been placed that make your new order total more than the original charge. For example, if you place your order and then remember you need a few more items, you’ll see an additional charge for the difference between your original charge and the new order total.

An Adjustment Charge on your delivery receipt means the final item charge, after any order changes, was higher than the original charge—for example, if the store is out of a particular brand and you approve a replacement with a higher price. You may also see this charge on your receipt if the final weight of an item increases the final item charge. The amount of the adjustment charge is the difference between your original charge and the new order total.

Tips added or adjusted after delivery may appear as a separate charge on your card statement.

You may see a temporary authorization hold for a slightly higher amount than your estimated order total. Learn more about authorizations and other unknown charges.
